Construction Company Creates a Strong Foundation for Veterans’ Care

Care for Veterans are delighted to share that they are the Charity of the Year for local construction company Full Works Projects.

Managing Director of Full Works Projects, Paul Harris, contacted Care for Veterans in January with the generous offer of supporting the charity with fundraising initiatives. To kickstart this philanthropic year, Full Works Projects have donated two tickets to the sold-out England v. Albania, European Qualifiers game at Wembley Stadium, to be placed in a fundraising prize draw in aid of Care for Veterans.

The tickets would enable the lucky winner to attend the game with a friend on Friday 21st March, watching the action from Centre Circle Club padded seats, with a 3-hour early entry time into the club ahead of the crowds. Tickets include unlimited food and drink before the game and during half time, as well as use of the centre circle club facilities afterwards with pies and unlimited drinks.

This high-value prize would typically cost around £800 altogether. Care for Veterans Events and Corporate Manager Clare Silva commented, “We are so excited by this amazing prize, which is sure to entice all football fans! Tickets are just £1 each, and £5 for a strip of 5 tickets. The impact this fundraising prize draw could have for the future care and rehabilitation of our disabled veteran residents is considerable”.

Care for Veterans has been providing respite, rehabilitation, long-term and palliative care services for disabled ex-service personnel and their families since 1919. Within their 60-bed home, residents’ ages range from 20 to 102. Under one roof, the home offers access to services including Physiotherapy, Psychological Counselling, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, a Wheelchair Clinic and Wellbeing Hub. This allows residents to bypass NHS waiting lists and access the care they desperately need, improving and maintaining their quality of life.

Each year, the charity needs to raise £1.5 million to continue these vital services. With no government funding available, support from businesses and the community support is crucial in enabling the future of Care for Veterans.

Care for Veterans CEO, Peter Inkpen stated, “We are so grateful for the generosity and kindness of the team at Full Works Projects. By choosing to support Care for Veterans, they are helping disabled ex-service personnel to improve and maintain their strength and independence, reminding our residents that their community is there for them even at this time of great personal difficulty”.

Managing Director of Full Works Projects, Paul Harris commented, “Full Works Projects chose Care for Veterans as its charity for 2025 in the hope that funds we raise and events we take part in enhance and enrich the lives of all veterans to show our deep gratitude and support for the brave men and women of this country and to ultimately say thank you to them all.”

The European Qualifier Tickets Prize Draw will be running from Tuesday 25th February until Thursday 13thMarch, with the winning ticket being pulled and announced on Friday 14th March. To enter, participants can either buy tickets from https://www.careforveterans.org.uk/events/the-european-qualifier-tickets-prize-draw/or tickets can be purchased directly from Reception at Care for Veterans.
